Know When It’s Time to Head to the ER
Medical emergencies appear in many ways, but you should take any of the following symptoms seriously:
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath or the feeling that something is sitting on your chest
- Difficulty speaking
- Sudden confusion or changes in mental status
- Sudden or severe pain
- Thoughts of hurting yourself or others
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Unusual pain in your abdomen
- Upper abdominal pain or pressure
- Vision changes
- Vomiting or diarrhea that won’t seem to stop
- Weakness, dizziness or fainting
Call 911 for life-threating issues or if it’s unsafe to drive.
